NVGF Strengthens Neuroscience Research Center Partnership with Bengbu Central Hospital

From February 5 to 8, NVGF visited Bengbu Central Hospital (Bengbu Third People's Hospital) in China. The visit marked another step forward in the ongoing international partnership, building on previous collaborations and creating new opportunities for joint research, training, and cross-border healthcare services.

This visit followed earlier milestones, including the establishment of the International Neuroscience Research Center in May 2022 and the signing of three cooperation agreements in November 2024.

During this latest exchange, both sides took part in a full programme of activities designed to deepen mutual understanding and advance shared goals in rehabilitation healthcare.

Highlights of the visit included working meetings of the China-Netherlands International Neuroscience Research Center, specialised training courses on comprehensive rehabilitation for central nervous system disorders, and a telemedicine consultation that connected NVGF experts with a patient in the Netherlands via video link. This real-time consultation provided valuable diagnostic insights and showed the potential of cross-border care models.

On February 8, the China-Netherlands Cross-Border Healthcare Service Exchange and International Neuroscience Research Center meeting brought together NVGF representatives, local government officials from Bengbu, and hospital leadership. The meeting outlined clear next steps for the research center, with specific goals in research collaboration, technology transfer, and professional development for rehabilitation specialists.

Beyond the clinical and academic exchanges, NVGF also had the chance to experience Chinese culture with visits to the Bengbu Museum and a calligraphy session. These cultural activities enriched the visit and fostered mutual respect and understanding between the teams.

This visit reaffirms NVGF's commitment to global cooperation and interdisciplinary approaches in healthcare. Together with Bengbu Central Hospital, NVGF looks forward to continuing work in neurological rehabilitation, cross-border medical services, and the integration of Eastern and Western therapeutic approaches to benefit patients in both Europe and China.
